people get killed all the time in the fairy tales

Friday, October 13th, 2006

There was too little bullshit in my blog recently. So I’ve decided to change it. :-)

Here you can find the amazing time-waster. I can spend hours playing with it and re-discovering the gravity laws. Enjoy. :-)

NYC is a place for single people wanting to stay single

Last week was quite busy. 3 days of work in Walldorf (Germany), later 2 days of team off-site meeting in Hanau (Germany). 60 people from 11 countries. Power of diversity. Polish team is the second biggest after Germans. We got an unofficial nickname “Former Soviet Republic”. LOL. At least this one is funny. In fact I am proud to be Polish and I am really happy that these were Russians who colonized us in 1945 not the Americans. I mean the culture…

This week I am spending in Warsaw. After spending some time in Germany I must say I really like it. Trams, people, streets… it all makes the well known pattern – my natural environment.

I am sick again. Autumn’s coming and I can feel it in my old bones.

Next week I am starting in Brussels. New adventure. I hope to have nice time there. And maybe find a girl to practise French… dirty French. hłehłehłe

I love my corporation for those little surprises they keep preparing for me. This one – in the toilet of the Warsaw office – last week. With Koala – my ex-flatmate. On Saturday in Warsaw.

View from my hotel window in Hirschberg Großsachsen, Germany. Made this morning.Today is German Unity Day – bank holiday in Germany. So we are sitting with some Polish colleagues in the empty factory (where usually 10.000 people work – SAP HQ, Walldorf, Germany). On Thursday and Friday I go to Hanau, Germany for team offsite meeting. Beer + propaganda.

Don’t take your guns to town

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Watched Walk the line yesterday. Based on biography of Johny Cash. Movie – ok, similar to the one about Ray Charles. Now sitting at work and listening to Johny Cash’s music.

Don’t Take Your Guns To Town Lyrics
by Johnny Cash

A young cowboy named Billy Joe grew restless on the farm
A boy filled with wonderlust who really meant no harm
He changed his clothes and shined his boots
And combed his dark hair down
And his mother cried as he walked out

[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town

He laughed and kissed his mom
And said your Billy Joe’s a man
I can shoot as quick and straight as anybody can
But I wouldn’t shoot without a cause
I’d gun nobody down
But she cried again as he rode away
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town

He sang a song as on he rode
His guns hung at his hips
He rode into a cattle town
A smile upon his lips
He stopped and walked into a bar
And laid his money down
But his mother’s words echoed again

[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town

He drank his first strong liquor then to calm his shaking hand
And tried to tell himself he had become a man
A dusty cowpoke at his side began to laugh him down
And he heard again his mothers words

[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town

Filled with rage then
Billy Joe reached for his gun to draw
But the stranger drew his gun and fired
Before he even saw
As Billy Joe fell to the floor
The crowd all gathered ’round
And wondered at his final words

[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town

Went to a wedding during the weekend with my flatmate. Nice experience. Much food , much alcohol. :-)

I am a tram-traveler-junkie. Faces, billboards, cars outside and music in my head and me smiling. Fascinating.

good question

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Billboard says “What makes you stay in this country?”. This is a part of an advertising campaign for a newspaper. Facts are: official data say that 500.000 people left Poland after integration with the European Union to work in the Western Europe. Unofficial data claim that the number is 2.000.000. Many of those are young people with their Masters Degrees who often prefer to do shitty jobs in London or Dublin than stay in Poland (and be unemployed or underpaid). The Polish reality.

Plac Zbawiciela. Byłem. Miażdży. Realizm. Zwykła historia, prawdziwie przedstawiona. Może dzieje się właśnie w mieszkaniu obok. Może sąsiadka, którą spotykasz w windzie też coś takiego przeżywa. Porażający realizm. Nasza rzeczywistość. Trochem rozbity.

Very positive day -yesterday. Tram was late and got stuck in a traffic, so I went a few stops walking in the sunshine. Late for work – nobody cares. And at work everything worked well. No stress, just progress. :-) And a big plan in my mind. Life in slow motion.

where we end

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Today I am celebrating an anniversary. I don’t remember my family member’s birth-dates, I don’t remember national Independence Day date, but somehow I exactly remember this one: on the 5th of September 2005 I started “the adult life” and joined Accenture. :D First day at work, big expectations, new people and situations. 10 months there and enough. What’s left – some experience and a few friends. Good start – that’s it.

Two years ago on the 5th of September I was having a tea by a the Tigris River in Turkey, about 30 km from the border with Iraq. This was a part of Operation What’s Underneath that I made with Rafa. I was thinking then if I could be anymore crazy. And the next I got much more crazy getting even closer to the forbidden territory. (BTW: check this).

Yeah, my life changed quite a lot since then. Have I?

Yesterday I was on a plane (Frankfurt-Warsaw) with this absolutely gorgeous woman. At that time I didn’t know who she was. Later I figured out that she was flying for the Miss of the World contest. Damn! Should have talked…

Let’s get started

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

I’ve been thinking for a long time about starting a blog… But couldn’t decide on a form. So finally I made a decision. Short note – no deep-thoughts-bullshit, pics – just trying to capture moments – no deep state-of-mind analysis…

To here it is. Mine and Seba’s another reunion – this time in Warsaw. He came there for a weekend – excuse was AIESEC International Congress. He didn’t come to participate – just for the Global Village event and to visit. Had some beers, smoked some cigarettes and talked a lot. Mostly about how our lives have changed during these 2 years that we know each other and were it is all heading to… Then we drunk more beer.
